Joseph Clark III is the unofficial town historian in Tolland, Massachusetts,
the Commonwealth's fifth smallest town.
He is the third oldest native there and has published more than 40 titles under his “Scourilous and Laggard” imprint since 1969. Many are out of print and being retooled into modern formats. Some, he has been warned, should not be re-issued, but who knows? Dusty and tattered as the characters in his stories, Clark's histories are the only books and CDs available about the town.
