This is a Free Concert

There is nothing to buy. It is presented through a generous grant from the Tolland Cultural Council and other private donations, including yours. We still need your help. You can see your gift to The Winds of Tolland, in the image of working musicians at the evening's performance.

Your kind gift will fill this hall with the music you have always loved

There is funding for a planned "Copland Configuration" of a chamber orchestra developed with great success by Aaron Copland and used primarily for performing his "Appalachian Spring" suite on stage. This orchestra features 2 violins, 2 violas, clarinet, flute, oboe, bassoon, 3 cellos, bass and harp or variations thereof. These are all professional players, with Maestro Alan Taylor conducting. This has never been done in this church hall before and careful measurements have been going on to be sure, prior to that evening, that these players will all fit without poking each other in the eye. Serious music players can be touchy if they feel they are being pinched as it were…

The acoustic of the hall are magnificent with its 16 foot high sloping walls and the 34 by 50 foot interior with the "stage upon stage" pulpit arrangement. There is a amplifier system and the producers have an outside amplifier system for lawn seating. Being planned are the cameras for video taping of the performance for later sale.
